This is the Home Page for the University of Iowa, Department of Physics & Astronomy, Polar VIS Research Group led by Dr. Louis A. Frank. The research group is situated in Van Allen Hall on the University of Iowa Main Campus in Iowa City, Iowa, USA. One of the Group's responsibilities is dedicated to supporting the Visible Imaging System on board the Global Geospace Science's Polar spacecraft.

Instrument Description

HTML Documentation for Polar VIS is currently available on-line. It can also be viewed in two other image formats TeX DVI and PostScript.

To see where the VIS (or any other Polar) instrument is located on the Polar spacecraft body, we have a sketch of the spacecraft with an instrument callout.
