This is the Home Page for the University of Iowa, Department of Physics & Astronomy, Polar VIS Research Group led by Dr. Louis A. Frank. The research group is situated in Van Allen Hall on the University of Iowa Main Campus in Iowa City, Iowa, USA. One of the Group's responsibilities is dedicated to supporting the Visible Imaging System on board the Global Geospace Science's Polar spacecraft.
The main Web Home Page for the general research group's other projects including the Galileo (PLS), Dynamics Explorer - 1 (SAI), GeoTail (CPI), International Sun-Earth Explorer (LEPEDEA), and Interplanetary Monitoring Platform 8 (LEPEDEA) spacecraft projects are available at www-pi.physics.uiowa.edu.
To see where the VIS (or any other Polar) instrument is located on the Polar spacecraft body, we have a sketch of the spacecraft with an instrument callout.
